    The Walthamstow Wetlands is one of Europe’s largest urban wetland nature reserves, with scenic reservoirs and walking trails. Just minutes from The Altham, it’s a peaceful retreat where you can spot herons and kingfishers if you're lucky. It is a great place to wind down after a busy day in the city. The Engine House hosts regular exhibitions and has a cosy café for a mid-walk coffee.

    A true local favourite, Lloyd Park in Walthamstow full of lawns, tree lined avenues, gardens and sports facilities. We'd recommend taking a stroll around the moor garden. The park is home to the William Morris Gallery - a must-visit for art lovers. Throughout the year, Lloyd Park also hosts community events, markets, and summer festivals.

Its closeness to The Altham, independent shops and cafés of St James Street means you can easily pair a stroll in the park with a coffee stop or brunch nearby.

    Also known as Leyton Flats, the area is part of Epping Forest, a feels like a real escape from the city. Hollow Ponds is surrounded by ancient woodland. You can also hire traditional rowing boats.
