Things to do in and around Walthamstow

Known as the new Shoreditch, Walthamstow is fast becoming a great neighbourhood to live in. Living at our new Morro building means you're perfectly placed for exploring the Wetlands or finding the best beer at one of London's hippest breweries. From green spaces and galleries to quirky markets and local pubs, here’s your guide to the best things to do in Walthamstow.

    Whether you're on the hunt for the perfect flat white, weekend brunch or an quiet corner to read and recharge, Walthamstow cafés deliver. Visit Deja Brew cafe a highly rated haunt moments from The Altham. If you're looking for a great coffee on the go, head to Perky Blenders, Milk, Long & Short or Jaunty Coffee on Forest Road. Today's Bread serves up organic sourdough baked fresh each morning, and is a great place to enjoy a relaxed catch-up with friends.     The Walthamstow Wetlands is a peaceful haven just minutes from The Altham. Walk or cycle past reservoirs, spot herons and kingfishers, and take in panoramic views from the historic Engine House café. Whether it’s sunrise runs, sunset walks or simply a breath of fresh air after work, it’s the perfect local escape. The Walthamstow Marshes makes up a tranquil section of the wetlands. It is a great area for a morning jogs, weekend strolls or picnics with friends. Follow leafy paths alongside the River Lea, watch canal boats drift by, or cycle into Hackney and beyond. In the summer, the marshes come alive with wildflowers and birdlife.
